Creamy Caramelized Onion & Garlic Pasta!🍝🧈🧅

Bring a large skillet with olive oil and butter to medium/high heat and add onions. Stir to coat in the oil and butter and lower the heat. Allow onions to brown and caramelize while stirring occasionally for ~30 mins. Remove from the pan and set onions aside. Next, add chili oil and garlic and stir until fragrant ~ 2 mins, then add heavy cream. Add gnocchi (at room temperature, not refrigerated or anything) if making this with spaghetti: boil and follow package instructions and make sure to reserve some pasta water to thicken the sauce even more! For the gnocchi: sauté until crispy for about ~8-10 mins. Next, add Parmesan! It melts and creates a really nice crispy crust against the caramelized onions and gnocchi. I like to garnish with fresh basil!
