1. Prepare the Halloumi: Slice the halloumi from the 250-gram package. In a pan, heat 2 Tbsp of olive or high-heat avocado oil over medium-high heat. Pan-fry the halloumi slices for approximately 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown.
2. Prepare the Ponzu Sauce: In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup soy or tamari sauce, 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (or a mix of lime, grapefruit, or orange juice), 2 Tbsp mirin, 1/2 teaspoon red pepper, and the zest of 1/2 large lemon. Mix well.
3. Assemble the "Tiradito": Core and slice 1 avocado. Slice 1 jalapeño (remove seeds for less heat). Arrange the sliced avocado and pan-fried halloumi on a serving plate. Scatter the jalapeño slices and a handful (about 2 Tbsp) of fresh basil or cilantro over the top. Drizzle generously with the homemade Ponzu sauce. Serve immediately and enjoy.
